About The Program

The Spring Chief Nursing Officer Congress is a highly anticipated event, bringing together esteemed leaders such as CNOs, CNEs, VPs of Nursing, and VPs of Patient Experience from healthcare systems and hospitals throughout North America. Focused on addressing pressing issues within the healthcare landscape, discussions at the program revolve around tackling nursing shortages, devising strategies for workplace violence prevention, harnessing the potential of telehealth, evolving nursing care delivery models, integrating AI, and so much more. Attendees engage in meaningful dialogues, sharing their experiences and insights while also fostering collaborative solutions to drive positive change in the healthcare industry.

This year, the Congress will be tri-located with our Revenue Cycle Management and Healthcare IT Congresses, offering exciting opportunities for crossover networking and content sessions. Attendees will be able to connect with professionals from other key areas of healthcare, enriching the learning experience and fostering broader collaboration.

The Congress features an array of formats including keynotes, panel discussions, interactive workshops, and collaborative roundtable sessions, allowing for comprehensive exploration and networking opportunities. Communal meal functions further facilitate peer-to-peer connections, making this forum an invaluable platform for learning, sharing, and forging impactful connections within the healthcare community.

Topics Of Discussion

This session delves into the role of quality metrics in fostering sustainable improvements within healthcare organizations. Attendees will learn how to design and implement metrics that inspire meaningful change, align with organizational goals, and support a culture of continuous improvement. Real-world examples will highlight strategies for overcoming challenges in measurement, reporting, and stakeholder engagement to achieve lasting results.

This roundtable will focus on how developing standardized work practices for nurse managers can play a pivotal role in improving nurse retention and preventing burnout. By establishing clear expectations, structured workflows, and consistent leadership support, nurse managers can create an environment that fosters resilience and high-quality care. Our discussion will also cover practical strategies for managing incivility among frontline staff, promoting healthy communication, and building a culture of respect. Attendees will leave with actionable tools to help reduce turnover, enhance staff well-being, and ultimately improve patient outcomes.

The role of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) provides the perfect opportunity to assess and plan the right approach to optimize nursing services and functions. This presentation offers practical examples of how the Chief Nursing Officer of a Behavioral Health Hospital in a large metropolitan city transformed a culture of mistrust, complaining, and complacency to one where there is trust, improved teamwork, and a focus on safety. Participants will learn of the real-world tactics used to gain trust and buy-in, improve communication, promote wellness and team building, and decrease workplace violence.

Cognitive burden on nurses contributes to burnout and errors. AI technologies, such as clinical decision support systems, predictive analytics, and robotic process automation, can automate repetitive tasks, provide real-time data, and offer personalized care plans, thereby reducing cognitive load. Effective leadership is crucial in fostering a culture that embraces AI, ensures data security, and provides adequate training and support. Critically, frontline nurses must be actively involved in the development and implementation of AI solutions. Their expertise and insights are invaluable in ensuring that these technologies are user-friendly, address real-world challenges, and ultimately improve patient care while enhancing nurse well-being.

Key takeaways:
– AI’s potential: Automates tasks, provides data-driven insights, and personalizes care.
– Leadership role: Fosters AI adoption, ensures data security, and provides support.
– Nurse engagement: Essential for user-friendly, effective, and safe AI implementation.

Collaboration between healthcare organizations is essential to elevate nursing competence, improve quality, and enhance patient safety across diverse care settings. This roundtable discussion will highlight strategies for fostering partnerships that provide tailored education and hands-on training, preparing nurses and clinical teams to adapt to rapidly changing clinical scenarios.

The discussion will also feature a real-world example of how inter-hospital collaboration can support quality improvement initiatives and build staff expertise. Attendees will leave with actionable strategies to strengthen nursing teams and drive better clinical outcomes.

In today’s fast-evolving healthcare landscape, achieving sustainable improvement requires more than short-term fixes—it demands a strategic focus on effective quality metrics. This session will explore how to design, implement, and leverage metrics that not only drive meaningful change but also foster long-term organizational success. Attendees will learn practical strategies to align metrics with organizational goals, engage teams in data-driven decision-making, and ensure continuous performance improvement. Join us to discover actionable insights that can transform your approach to quality and sustainability in healthcare.

Emerging nurse leaders play a vital role in bridging organizational goals with frontline care, yet they often face unique challenges in their leadership journey. This session examines strategies to enhance engagement, foster effective recruitment, and build retention programs tailored to support this critical group. Discussions will highlight the importance of mentorship, leadership development, and creating pathways for growth to empower emerging leaders and strengthen the overall nursing workforce.

Efficient patient throughput is essential for delivering timely, high-quality care and optimizing healthcare resources. This session focuses on innovative strategies to address bottlenecks, improve care transitions, and enhance patient flow across the care continuum. Attendees will gain insights into leveraging technology, data analytics, and interdisciplinary collaboration to streamline operations and achieve better clinical and operational outcomes.

This was an incredible experience for CNOs and other senior level leaders. It was a diverse group of leaders from all areas of healthcare leadership and organizations, and the discussions were engaging, inspiring and thought provoking. I enjoyed sharing best practices that have worked for my organizations that newer CNOs can utilize in their roles. The hosting team was incredibly welcoming, professional and engaging. Well done!

The Fall CNO Congress, hosted by Bridgemark, was an outstanding event. It featured insightful presentations and engaging roundtable discussions that facilitated knowledge sharing, along with excellent networking opportunities. I love that the attendee list is small as this allows for engagement in intentional knowledge sharing with fellow nurse executives from around the world.

Michele Szkolnicki

The Bridgemark conference brought together an amazing and talented array of experienced leaders! It allowed us leaders to think together and share solutions for today's issues - in a small, intimate setting that allows for true connection. I find this gathering to be incredibly valuable.
